Our Grass Our Roots is not just trying to revitalize the neighborhood, but we are aiming to transform the culture and the mindset of North Memphis. If this is not done, North Memphis will meet its demise through excess gentrification, citizen displacement, and self-destruction. Our Grass Our Roots seeks to unite all citizens and current organizations of North Memphis and beyond who support the transformation of our community.

Our Grass Our Roots seeks to unite all citizens and current organizations of North Memphis and beyond who support this cause to transform our own communities bit by bit.
BY INFORMING CITIZENS OF THEIR RIGHTS, THEIR RESOURCES, AND THEIR OPTIONS,
we can promote land ownership, advocate for our schools, and create our own businesses in order to build economic independence in the community.
BY RESISTING GENTRIFICATION AND COMMUNITY PLANS
that have not consulted the community of their wants and needs, we can become a powerful voice of change.
BY ASSISTING ONE ANOTHER
we can build a stronger community based on the needs and wants of the people.
BY ADVANCING THE COMMUNITY
we can invest in a neighborhood of promising individuals that will lead and maintain Memphis, TN as a city of growth and love.
